Corman’s southern division is busy repairing the Varina-Enon Bridge, the world’s first bridge that used precast concrete delta frames for its 630-ft. long cable stayed span that carries I-295 over the James River in Richmond, VA. Repairs include post tensioning and concrete at each cable stay location on both towers using 150-ft. scaffold towers. Project will be completed early summer 2019.
Awarded in March 2019, Corman teamed up with Lead Designer Collins Engineers, Inc. to design and repair/replace four ferry docks in the Elizabeth River in Virginia’s Tidewater Region. Design is currently underway to restore the Waterside, Harbor, North Landing, and High Street ferry docks with a May 2020 project completion.
