Celebrating our One Year Anniversary as Corman Kokosing Construction Company by Launching a New Industrial Group Division

On the heels of our one-year anniversary as Corman Kokosing Construction Company, we are announcing a new Industrial group led by Operations Manager Ryan Nelson. This will expand our experience and portfolio to include a broader range of industrial work as we pursue water/wastewater and power transmission (T-Line) work/hardening projects throughout the mid-atlantic region.

Two Corman Projects Recognized by NUCA of DC

What happens when Corman submits two projects for the same award?  One becomes a finalist and the other one is a winner!  Both DC Water’s Main Pumping Station Diversions, Division I and Division D-JBAB Overflow & Diversion Structure design-build projects were submitted for a 2018 NUCA National Top Jobs Award in the Sanitary Sewer Collection/Storm Drain category.  It was announced that Division D and Division I became two of three finalists with Division I sliding into the winner’s circle.  NUCA will be presenting the award to Corman and DC Water at their next quarterly meeting.

National Park Service Projects Nearing the Finish Line

Corman is wrapping up restoring National Park Service’s historic Conococheague Aqueduct in Williamsport, MD a water-filled bridge where cargo boats floated over the Conococheague next to the Cushwa Basin and repairing six sections along 12 miles of the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal from Locks 5-22 in Potomac, MD.  Both are slated for completion in Spring 2019. When complete, the Conococheague Aqueduct will be the only place in North America that features a working aqueduct and canal lock and structures in the Locks 5-22 area will be able to withstand flooding from the Potomac River.

Varina-Enon Bridge Repairs over James River

Corman’s southern division is busy repairing the Varina-Enon Bridge, the world’s first bridge that used precast concrete delta frames for its 630-ft. long cable stayed span that carries I-295 over the James River in Richmond, VA.  Repairs include post tensioning and concrete at each cable stay location on both towers using 150-ft. scaffold towers. Project will be completed early summer 2019.
